GRANOLA FOR BREAKFAST?

I've learnt that breakfast is the most important meal of the day - cause it starts your engine... However, many find it hard to eat something early in the morning often because the old piece of toast or porridge isn't always that exciting...

I believe in making things from scratch, because you will always know what is in your food and it is so much more healthier! You also get a relationship to what you eat - and thus, its easier to eat healthy.

Why not try this home made granola mixture with some greek natural yogurt and some fresh fruit? It's SO easy to make, and tastes amazing. Good bye boring breakfast!!!

You need:

5 dl oat meal
2 dl of sunflower seeds
1 dl of sesame seeds
3 dl of mixed chopped nuts - i like almonds and hazel nuts
2 dl of dried fruits - raisins, apricots you name it!
1 dl of water
4 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of butter
pinch of salt
2 tbsp of cinnamon

How to:

Put the oven on 180 degrees. Prepare a baking tray covered with baking paper. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl, melt butter and honey in the water and pour the mixture over the dry ingredients. Mix until you know that everything is covered.

Spred the granola on the baking tray and put in oven - middle rack.
Let it bake for 30 minutes - you need to stir in it every 5-10 minutes so that the granola gets an even color and nothing gets burnt.

When it's done, set a side to cool. When its cold you can feel its crisped up. Now it's time to add your dried fruits. Put in air tight jars - it will keep for a long time:)

Ps, this can also be a great gift!
